A poem about inner conflict, and the dividing line between good and evil which runs through every heart.

300 agonizing seconds. A flash of light. The blur of what I think is a car. The shattering of what feels like glass beneath my chest. I am so cold. Warm blood turns to ice as the late evening wind chills my motionless body on that dark cold concrete. Is this it? Am I going to die?

Every breath becomes harder to take as vision fades like the fleeting evening rays. I am scared. I am not ready to go. Why now…

It was a cold, wet, brisk fall night. As the wind slammed against my bedroom window, I could feel a sense of warm fatigue taking over my body. Heaviness like a blanket of snow covered in rain, descended upon my eyes as I fought to stay awake. What was odd about this particular evening was the feeling of anticipation which accompanied my transition into deep sleep. At the time I didn’t understand it, but I could remember feeling an unusual combination of emotions that didn’t go together. …

This is a poem about the origins of my people pleasing behavior, and how it grew and affected me over the course of my life.

Flashes of humanity briefly erupt on a landscape of flesh that otherwise seems apathetic to my existence.

I look into your eyes and I see a soul desperate to love, desperate for love. An animating force shackled by chains from God knows where. You are beautiful, I know you are. Love is a dance and if I can memorize the steps, I know deep down I can finally feel your love. I love you….. …

Wilbur and Orville Wright making the world’s first hour-long flight at Fort Myer, Va., in 1907

On December 17th, 1903, the Wright Brothers made history when the first heavier-than-air machine achieved controlled and sustained flight. From the moment this was done, it was immediately obvious that the airplane was going to radically change the world. When World War I started in 1914, the airplane was immediately retrofitted for war. At first the airplane was used solely for reconnaissance, but by the end of the war airplanes became retrofitted with machine-guns and evolved into a crucial offensive asset.

Inspired by the war, the British decided to create the world’s first independent national air force in 1918. The…

In 1965, American engineer Gordon Moore made the observation that the number of transistors on a computer chip doubles every 18–24 months. Since this observation was made, the computer industry has decided to abide by this observation and turn it into a self-fulfilling prophecy (called Moore’s Law) which is why computer power has advanced so rapidly over the course of the past fifty years. To give you an appreciation for the remarkable advances which have taken place in computers due to this trend, all we need to do is look at the number of transistors on the first microprocessor which…

What if I told you that there was a technology that existed right now which had the potential to eliminate the usage of child and slave labor in supply chains? A piece of technology that could end art fraud, discover the source of contaminated supermarket food in seconds, and even deliver stimulus checks to millions of Americans instantaneously.

This exciting piece of technology is called blockchain. It’s impact on the well-being of humanity is going to greatly exceed that of the internet. I understand that this is an ambitious claim considering how beneficial the internet has been for all of…

Mostly Strings Youtube Cover Photo

This was the first poem I wrote that got me passionate about poetry as an art form. Enjoy.

It’s a cold, wet, gray, fall day. You look out the window and notice that the brilliant shades of orange which dominated the trees have now given way to brown and bareness. You realize that life is temporary, and that one day, you yourself will fade from the brilliant orange you are now. You tear up and water splashes onto the oak desk which lies below your chin. …

According to Merriam-Websters dictionary, information technology is defined as, “technology involving the development, maintenance, and use of computer systems, software, and networks for the processing and distribution of data”. In simpler terms, information technology is technology which processes and distributes data. This technology could be hardware (the personal computer), or it could be software (Netflix). As the definition suggests, the processing and distribution of data could also happen on networks such as the internet.

Information technology is important because as humans we are limited in our ability to process and distribute data. By increasing the amount of data we can…

The barren whiteness of my surroundings went black. A cold nothingness gripped my body as I felt my sense of who I was slip away. The sharpness of logic and intellect became immediately dull as the weight of non-existence forced the conclusion that I was nothing. It was so obvious and self-evident, nothing begets more nothing. As I sat there slowly ceasing to be, a magnificent voice of power destroyed the void with the words, “Let there be light!”.

I exist. I exist. I exist!! ….Go.. Go.. Go.. God….I stuttered, is that… you? My question I realized was in vain…

The idea of utopia (a perfect society) has its origins in Plato’s published writings titled, “Republic”. In this book, Plato proposes a society that is composed of 4 classes: The gold, silver, bronze, and iron classes. The gold class would be trained for 50 years on how to rule so that when they assumed leadership, they would be benign and wise in how they structured and ran society.

Ever since Plato, this idea’s has evolved like we have. For most of history a Utopia was depicted as a place where all the prerequisites for survival were satisfied. …
